Virgin Games is in a celebratory mood; the gaming giant that owns online bingo site Virgin Bingo has won the “Affiliate Programme of the Year” award from eGaming Review, beating competition from other biggies like 888, Ladbrokes and Paddy Power. Established 5 years ago, the EGR awards is considered to be the ultimate honour in the online gaming industry; a lot like what the Oscars are to Hollywood.
Editor of eGaming Review, Jake Pollard, commented: "Congratulations to Virgin Games for winning one of the most competitive categories in the EGR Awards. The relationship between affiliates and operators is vital to the health of the E-gaming sector and by winning the Affiliate Programme of the Year award Virgin Games has demonstrated its strength and skill in understanding and managing this key aspect of the industry."
Pierrick Leveque, Virgin Games’ Head of Affiliates, who was voted the "Best Bingo Affiliate Manager" at the earlier 2nd annual Affiliate Awards, said, "Everybody here at Virgin Games is delighted with this award. This year’s shortlist was packed with industry heavyweights, and for a comparatively small outfit like Virgin Games to get the vote makes the win all the sweeter.”
"Without the Virgin Games management team, who gambled on building our in-house affiliate system three years ago; the Virgin Games technical team, who engineered the most stable, fun and scalable affiliate system I’ve had the pleasure to work on, and most importantly, without our loyal affiliates, we wouldn’t be where we are today. We can all be proud."
This is the latest award Virgin Games have won; last year in June they received the "Best Gaming Affiliate Programme" in the a4uAwards ceremony. Launched in 2004, Virigin Games offers a range of gaming options including online bingo, casino and poker. Players can earn cash rewards as well as loyalty points which can be redeemed to purchase a range of Virgin products.
