Some people think that Bingo is purely a game of chance – hover over your numbers and if they come up, you'll win. To some extent they're correct, and it is partly that element of chance that makes the bingo game exciting. Will I win this game? Am I going to get a Full House on this card? Just one more number ...
But it's not fair to assume that every is completely random. There are a couple of skills associated with being a good bingo player that you can work on to get that edge in your game. Practise these, and you'll definitely see an improvement.
First, it's important to work on your sociability. People don't turn up to bingo halls or log into online bingo purely for the game. There's a whole culture and social scene around it which for some people is just as attractive as the game itself.
In online bingo, it's maintaining friendships in the chat rooms. In the bingo halls, it's being nice to the people sitting around you. Why? Because these are the people who you can approach if you're ever stuck.
You need to ask something? Your mates will help you out. Confused and didn't quite catch that last number? Ask your buddy next door. Having good social skills can mean the difference between getting a full house and being stuck with a card with one missing number you missed.
Next skill: patience. A 90 ball game can take a long while, so breathe easily and relax. If you have no patience, you'll find yourself becoming antsy and more likely to look for amusement around you. If you're too impatient, you risk missing your lucky number when it finally comes up.
Hand in hand with the skill of patience goes the skill of concentration. You need to stay focussed on the bingo game, listening out for the numbers as they're called, oblivious to the distractions around you.
And directly linked to both of those is the kicker: memory. This is particularly critical if you intend to run multiple cards for a given game. Do you know all the numbers that are on your cards? Do you know where they are for when they're called?
Practise these basic skills, and your bingo playing experience can only improve.
