“Past their sell-by date” is the indictment dished out on the reunited Spice Girls by Irish pop mogul Louis Walsh. I’d rather play online bingo than listen to the Spice Girls is the feeling of this writer in agreeing with Mr Walsh, the man behind such cultural wonders as Westlife, Boyzone and Samantha Mumba. Mr Walsh has also turned his barbs against pop idols Robbie Williams and Will Young, saying about Williams: "It's great about Take That getting back together and they didn't need Robbie. He's overrated and has lost his sense of reality. He should be grateful that he has been so successful with not a lot of talent.” Turning his attention to Will Young: "Will (Young) is too pretentious. I'm not keen on him.” However, his nastiest words were reserved for the Brit Pop 90’s sensation the Spice Girls of whom he said: "The Spice Girls are only reuniting because they have nothing else to do. One's just the wife of a soccer star and the others are not on the radar. They're well past their sell-by date." Ouch! Even us types who play bingo games online might find that a little harsh. Personally, I would say they’re as relevant as boyband promoters looking to get a bit of press time when he should be thinking about taking up free online bingo in his old age.
