TV personality and online bingo celebrity Kerry Katona has settled for a substantial amount of damages after she sued MGN Ltd over a story that she once worked as a prostitute. People who play online bingo know Katona as the front person for a popular online bingo hall as much as for her role in pop band Atomic Kitten. The amount awarded to Katona remains undisclosed but it is believed to be a five-figure sum and reimbursement of her legal costs. The libel case was brought after it was claimed that Katona's mother would be publishing an autobiography that would contain claims Katona had worked as a prostitute. Katona’s lawyer said in a statement: "The truth is that Sue Katona has never alleged that the claimant worked as a prostitute in the book or at any other time and such an allegation would be entirely untrue.
