In news that will pique the interest of online bingo operators that have been stung by recent US legislation prohibiting participation in that market, the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has received the go-ahead to accept commingled US bets on Hong Kong horseracing. The US Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act currently stops financial transactions from taking place between US customers and non-US online bingo halls and bingo online gaming operations. The decision to allow the HKJC to provide to the US live simulcast, wagering and commingled pools for its races gives the HKJC access to onw of the world’s most lucrative gaming markets. HKJC CEO Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges says: "Any ventures into overseas markets must be done in the right way, consistent with our commitment for best practices. It is our view there is no better place in the world with respect to best practices than the state of Nevada with its worldwide reputation as a premier regulatory authority in a very competitive gaming environment. We believe that Nevada is the right entry point for our first overseas commingling venture." Written by John Witherspoon - Play bingo online at http://bingostreet.com/ and read our online bingo blog.
