The North American gambling market, which includes both the US and Canadian gaming industries, is being reported in the North American Gaming Almanac from Casino City Press to be in the vicinity of $92.68 billion.
The total represents an 8.2% growth for the market.
While the almanac is touted by its authors as the ‘must-have’ publication for anyone looking to understand the gaming industry today, the reality is it is of limited academic interests to non-US free online bingo operators who have been effectively shut out of the market due to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA).
"Users (of the Almanac) include financial analysts at investment banks, casino operators, gaming analysts at casinos, market research consultants, major industry suppliers, regulators, and libraries and universities. The Almanac helps them develop benchmarks, analyze competitors, monitor industry trends, and gather market data to support their business plan." says Michael Corfman, president and CEO of Casino City Press.
Before the implementation of UIGEA, online bingo and online bingo games were one of the fastest growing niches in the North American gaming market.
