Online gambling nemesis Eliot Spitzer, the now former Governor of New York, has fallen a long way from the moral high ground he took when he went after the gambling industry as a prosecutor. A chief supporter of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), Spitzer hounded many online sportsbetting operations under the guise of doing a public service. His recent fall from grace after revelations he was linked as a client to a prostitution ring are all the more ironic in that he also targeted escort services fro prosecution in his time. Online bingo and operators of online bingo games were major victims of UIGEA’s implementation and faced potential prosecution from the likes of Spitzer if they continued to do business in the US. Spitzer resigned as New York Governor on March 12. Written by John Witherspoon – How about playing bingo online? The best free online bingo games are just one click away.
