Norway online gambling sees 6.1 percent market growth - Online Bingo News

Online bingo operators and observers of the online bingo games industry in general will be heartened by news from Norway that that country’s online gambling market grew by an impressive 6.1% last year.

Statistics put out by the Norwegian Gambling Commission show an estimated 244,000 Norwegians gambled online in 2007 spending Euro 961 million.  Norwegian Lotto was the preferred method of gambling at 48% followed by online poker at 28% and sports betting at 27%.  Online bingo makes up part of the statistic related to casino games which tally up to 7%.

The amount of people who play bingo games online in Norway has not been specifically defined by the latest statistics, but bingo online industry insiders say the online bingo market is growing particularly quickly amongst the country’s female demographic.
