The UNI Global union, a gambling union representing nearly 15 million members worldwide, held a meeting in Nyon, Switzerland, recently where it identified the online gambling sector as a threat.
International representatives of various gaming trade unions have agreed to try to work together in confronting online gambling which it claims,… "threatens jobs, creates new revenue that’s not always shared with the workers it depends upon and creates problems of unmonitored, addictive gambling."
Online bingo games and online bingo halls constitute one of the fastest growing niches in the online gaming industry. Land bingo has seen substantial loss of jobs due to traditional bingo halls closing in response to lost customers and profit downturns.
