Belgium may be about to liberalize its online gaming market - Online Bingo News

July 17, 2008

Business publication Markets and Research is reporting that Belgium is preparing the way for the opening of its online gambling market.

The news will be welcomed in online bingo circles with operators of online bingo games and online bingo hall owners keen to take advantage of opportunities in a new market.  The liberalization of a number of European gambling markets has taken place over the last two years with Belgium joining a trend that includes Italy and Spain.

Under proposed plans to create a regulated online gaming market, foreign online gambling companies could find themselves able to offer services in Belgium as soon as 2009.
