Mecca Bingo are in a year long partnership with children's charity Whizz-Kidz and aim to raise £250,000 in 2008 to help buy vital mobility equipment and provide wheelchair skills training for disabled children. The company’s bingo staff members will be taking part in a sponsored mountain climb of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, during today and tomorrow. Friends, family and club members have been encouraged to donate as much as possible to help the charity. Steve Jones, one of the participating online bingo climbers, said that they've all got their fingers crossed for good weather. "Everyone is feeling very enthusiastic and we have been training hard. I'd like to urge anyone who hasn't donated yet to dig deep." Whizz-Kidz is Mecca's charity for the year, and provides desperately needed mobility equipment for disabled children. Graham Kelly, the Fundraising Director of Whizz-Kidz, said earlier this year when the Mecca Bingo partnership was announced: "With around 70,000 kids nationally in need of vital mobility equipment, everyone will know someone in their community or family that could benefit from our work. So get fundraising and help "Mecca Wheel Difference."" Please visit www.whizz-kidz.org.uk for more details.
