UK based mobile gambling provider Probability gave good news to investors this week in its trading update which shows a 10% growth in revenues for the second quarter of 2008 to £1.37 million, in spite of the traditionally quite period in the industry.
Probability provides software for mobile phones, allowing customer to play games including bingo, blackjack, videopoker, slots or scratchcards directly via their mobile phones. The recently launched Italian Job Racing mobile game was played more than 50,000 times on the first day alone.
The company has already rolled out its first batch of 3 Network phones which contain pre-installed links to their LadyLuck brand. A total of 2 million such mobile phones will be released this year.
Probability CEO Charles Cohen said: "In a situation where some of the latest mobile games can cost upwards of £7, and there are lottery scratchcards costing £2, the free download of a game such as Bingo! or the Italian Job, with stakes starting from 50p, gives customers fantastic value for money and the chance to win thousands in prizes on their mobile."
A number of online bingo websites have already caught on to the mobile bingo trend, and have made, or are in the process of making, their online bingo games accessible to their bingo roomies via mobile phone.
