Bingo operators Cashcade and Tombola have been short listed for the 2009 Bingo Operator of the Year category at the EGR Awards. Cashcade, who own popular online bingo websites such as Foxy Bingo, Foxy Zero Bingo, Cheeky Bingo, Mirror Bingo and others, have a 23% market share hosting over 2,500 average daily concurrent users in the three months to 30 June 2009.
Tombola, on the other hand, claims to be the most visited online bingo website in the UK with more players than Cashcade. Tombola has invested £5 million in an advertising campaign as well innovated on loyalty programs such as Play-Mates and MyTombola which is a cross between social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.
Gamesys which operates JackpotJoy Bingo were also recognised for their innovations such as the low cost bingo room, The Emerald Room and games such as Monopoly Snap that have helped build the brand during a downturn in the economy.
Ladbrokes Bingo is the fourth bingo operator to be nominated for the Bingo Operator of the Year award. Ladbrokes Bingo have increased the number of active players by 6% year on year and their players now spend 42% more than they did last year. Ladbrokes Bingo has also increased their customer base by offering bingo in different languages including Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and Spanish.
William Hill Bingo and newcomer Wink Bingo are the fifth and sixth nominees for the Bingo Operator of the Year awards, the former being nominated for their involvement in charity, amongst other things and the latter for their promotions as well as sponsorships of popular peak-time ITV programmes including All Star Family Fortunes, The Cube and Harry Hill’s TV Burp.
The winner of the Bingo Operator Award will be announced at the EGR Awards gala dinner at London’s Old Billingsgate market. The gala dinner will be held on the 30 November which is the first night of EGR Live, eGaming Review's free-to-attend conference and exhibition at the same venue.
