888 Ladies Bingo has revealed the results of the poll they had conducted amongst their members to find out who the players thought would win the X Factor contest this year. According to the bingo players at 888 Ladies Bingo, single mum Stacey Solomon stands out as a clear winner with a 38% vote followed by Olly Murs coming in second with 28%.
Given the popularity of 888Ladies, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the votes from the bingo site translate into reality and Stacey does end up winning the X Factor. Twins John and Edward, popularly known as Jedward, proved unpopular with the bingo site and had a miserly 1% vote, not surprisingly, they were voted off on the Sunday night episode of the X Factor show.
Olly Murs coming in second could simply be as a result of the sing-off against Jedward; perhaps the voters thought he was safe and failed to vote for him. Danyl Johnson was the bookies favourite to win the X Factor at one stage, however, the bingo players gave him a 7% vote while Lloyd Daniels got a 6% vote, clearly bingo players at 888 Ladies Bingo don’t expect him to be a winner. Joe McElderry, on the other hand, came in third after Olly Murs with 20%.
These polls are not official and don’t have any bearing on the actual votes cast by the public on the X Factor TV show, having said that, 888 Ladies Bingo is a very popular online bingo site and as such, there is no reason why it shouldn't be a valid reflection of public opinion.
A spokesperson for 888 Ladies Bingo said, “Stacey’s girl next door attitude has captured the hearts of the nation. She’s the best thing to happen to Essex since Faces night club announced a happy hour extension. Whether it’s bobbies or builders, everyone is talking about the darling from Dagenham.”
